Tasks
The school dining is an ideal place for living and learning space because it allows us to work with children in a relaxed, fun and friend
For these reasons, and appreciating the proximity to students that this space gives us, it seems important to include participation and learning activities that help to promote coexistence and personal growth of the students.
We have developed an activity to promote languages and cultures among children. This project aims to provide tools and resources to promote respect among students and interest in multiculturalism. The activity is developed through dialogue, dynamics, games and activities embedded in the daily habits that are transmitted in the school dining space. To facilitate closer proximity we work with small groups of students. Monitors are responsible for the surveillance of students.
The proposed activities are carried out from Monday to Friday from 10.30 to 16.30 for a total of 30 hours per week.
Some of the tasks that volunteers will carry out using their native language, are:
- Maintain order and a cordial atmosphere during the lunch.
- Promote coexistence and good habits among students.
- Greet students and facilitate communication politely.
- Expan vocabulary with sentences that enables them to communicate and approach other languages.
- Cooperate and propose other dynamics and games from other countries in order to promote coexistence.
- Collaborate in storytelling or small theater performances.
