“Action for Halong Bay” is a Heritage international volunteer workcamp held in Vietnam which gathers young volunteers from different countries during a given period of time to live and work together with local population towards a common goal : World Heritage preservation in Vietnam. As the fragile future of world heritage lies in the hands of youth, in the hands of those who, tomorrow will be able to take care of it, and “pass it on”. It is our duty to help them feel responsible for it, and be conscious of its outstanding value.
The world heritage workcamp seeks to encourage and enable the tomorrow’s decision-makers and to respond to continuing threats facing our heritage. It aims to mobilize youth to take action in the sector for World Heritage promotion and preservation through involvement in international voluntary work.
The project explores opportunities for a dynamic dialogue between volunteers and youth groups and heritage & education experts involved in the promotion and protection of the selected World Heritage sites.

Ha Long Bay has been recognized as world heritage by UNESCO. Halong Bay is now being suffered from loads of garbage from services and individuals. The ecology system is also in danger because of changing of the natural condition. Unfortunately, the attitude and consciousness of the local residents is making the matter worse.
That’s why the program needs you to join hands to reverse the situations. The world heritage workcamp seeks to encourage and enable the tomorrow’s decision-makers and to respond to continuing threats facing our heritage. It aims to encourage youth to take action in the sector for World Heritage promotion and preservation through involvement in international voluntary work.
