Tasks
The volunteer will be responsible for helping with:
•reading-room technical stuff tasks (collection ordering),
•user service,
•searching for new foreign books suited to the library profile,
•digitalization of library collection,
•organization of events and exhibitions
•shooting and image processing
A volunteer will also coordinate ”Meet me in Library” voluntary project, which consists of free of charge language conversations
(having classes, participation, keeping the register and making the meetings). Moreover s/he will organize cultural meetings for
groups of children, youth or seniors. Volunteers will be writing a blog on their activities.
We believe that we can give various opportunities, e.g.:
•a chance to present one’s own ideas and projects to the Library,
•working in a friendly atmosphere,
•taking part in organization of activities for the local community of all ages (children, youth, seniors)
•learning the basics of organizing cultural events and their promotion,
•the volunteer will be able to organize ideas and implement events, e.g. those that promote his/her country of origin, or any
other cultural event in the chosen area.
Criteria
We don’t have any expectations about the type of sending organization we want to cooperate with.
We are looking for open-minded, highly-motivated and of a positive attitude volunteer. Fancy for working children and seniors,
interest in photography, drawing or other fine arts and good computer skills will help him/her work.
A willing to learn Polish highly recommended, as it helps a lot in acting freely within the world of literature and environment of library.
