College for International Cooperation and Development

College for International Co-operation (CICD) was started in 1998.
CICD is situated in rural Yorkshire, where a large complex of buildings set in beautiful grounds is the framework for our activities. We run the Development Instructor course and Fighting with the Poor / A certificate, in partnership with One World University in Mozambique. The programmes are of varying length - 14 or 18 or 24 months. They all include a 6 months period of international studies and preparation followed by 6 months voluntary work at a development project in Africa or india.
To finance our operations we operate a collection of second hand clothes and shoes. In connection with the clothes collection, run a course with focus on environmental issues - the Gaia Environmental Course, which is a scholarship programme.
We typically have participants from around 10 - 15 countries.
