Hand in Hand - TC for beginners in EVS

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The aim is to provide a TC for international project partners, youth workers, project managers and young people in order to support Intercultural Youth Work Activities within the frame of the “YOUTH in ACTION (YiA)” programme. The training focuses on tools and methods on how to involve young people with fewer opportunities and also those living in rural areas. The project is designed to raise awareness about EVS, to promote European Voluntary Service in EECA and to make EVS more popular among unemployed and disadvantaged young people. Therefore, the training will focus on teaching sending and hosting organisations how to use the EVS programme and which challenges they have to be prepared for while cooperating together on a common volunteer project.
These are the key elements of the training: Youth in Action Programme, youth work with disadvantaged people, EVS, cultural diversity, preparation of EVS volunteer, cultural and social particularities of EECA countries, good partnership, conflict management on personal level, making film about TC and EVS feature.
The project “Hand in Hand - TC for beginners” in EVS will be a six-day training course (TC) with 30 participants from EECA and Programme Countries.

VENUE: Training course will take place in Chakvi, Georgia

DATE: 1-7 October, 2011

TARGET GROUP: Youth workers: project coordinators/leaders, multipliers, decision makers, NGO members and young people engaged in work of various NGOs from organisations which are less experienced in EVS or want to become involved in the EVS programme.
