  • The Green-Go Short Film Contest has launched again – this year the third time. The organisers would like to invite every amateur and professional filmmaker to join the celebration of the United Nation’s Year of Water Cooperation and the 40th Anniversary of the Washington Convention that aims to regulate and fight against illegal trading of endangered species.

    The categories in this year are:

    Life in plastic, it’s fantastic? - In this category the organiser team is waiting for short films that show how

    •the problem of waste globally or locally
    •how to solve the problems caused by our waste
    •how to reduce, repair, reuse and recycle
    •an imaginary world with low waste production and where waste is not wasted

    Water – the drop of life – This category is for the celebration of the UN’s International Year of Water Cooperation. In this category shorts that show how

    •to save up more water without giving up our comfort
    •how people worldwide wastes and pollutes just through carrying out their ‘basic’ necessities
    •to protect our natural water resources
    •to protect water and water based ecosystems
    •we labour under a delusion that we have unlimited water resources until the end of time are welcome!

    Stayin’ alive- To raise awareness on the accelerating extinction of species due to the human greed, then the organisers are waiting for shorts which show:

    •what the extinction of these species means for humankind
    •cases and effects of illegal hunting, smuggling, global and internet trade, etc.
    •initiatives on saving species
    •what we can do to stop extinction?

    This catorgy aims to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) and raise public awareness on the efforts of the Parties of CITES.
