  • Regional Studies Center is planning to host a seven day seminar on migration issues entitled “Emigration vs. Immigration”. The main aim of the project is to give a chance to participants to be informed about the bigger picture of migration flows, their impacts on the country of origin and the country of destination.
    The objectives of the project include:
    1. To give the participants theoretical and practical background on migration issues,
    2. To debate about the opportunities and challenges of the migration,
    3. To discuss different types of migration such as international, internal, permanent, seasonal, irregular, forced migration, etc.,
    4. To understand the drivers of migration flows and the motivators of the migrants,
    5. To debate on legal and other regulations of the migration flows,
    6. To promote the networking of the organizations working on migration issues,
    7. To motivate the participants to act as multipliers and disseminators of the main outcomes of the project.
    The seminar will be based on non-formal education methods as teambuilding activities, presentations, discussions, group exercises, meetings with experts and local organizations working on the same issue. The project will bring together 36 participants from different parts of Europe, including both the EU member-states and the Eastern Partnership countries. The seminar will take place in Tsakhkadzor, Armenia in May 2014.
