  • Training in Istanbul organized by the Human Rights in Menthal Health Initiative (RUSİHAK) and b1z Recovery Services.

    The course will tackle different aspects of counseling on substance and alcohol abuse in young people, various dimensions of addiction, different approaches on addiction recovery and developing capacity for therapeutic communities that will be based on peer- and self-support, social inclusion techniques of young people who have had substance abuse problem.

    The programme aims to provide following skills and abilities to participants:

    1. They will be aware of recovery network starting from detox centers to self-support groups

    2. They will have the skill of therapeutic interview skills

    3. They will have the knowledge about various kinds of addiction and various kinds of treatment techniques

    4. They will have the skills to be more engaged to the social inclusion process of young people who suffered from substance abuse.

    5. They will be a part of recovery network and they will informed about the latest developments in the field through a newsletter.

    The programme consists of 6 days intensive class based learning programme of which 5 days will be dedicated to ten 2 hours-modules, 10am – 12 pm morning session and 2pm – 4pm afternoon session. These trainings will be provided by field experts from Netherlands and UK. One day will be dedicated to “experts by experience” to share their real-life experiences about addiction and recovery. The programme includes a visit to 2 organisations together with an open discussion.

    An email group will be set up following the programme in order to share experiences, to pursue discussions and to share the newsletter.

    The participation to the in-service training courses can be fully funded by Youth Program. The deadline for sending the grant application to Turkish National Agency is 1 May 2013.
